RCD’s are required by law to be fitted at the origin of the power

Since 2000 it has been compulsory for all new homes to have a minimum of two RCD Safety Switches fitted to protect the power and lighting circuits as part of the electrical installation. However, homes built before 2000 were not required to have two RCDs fitted.

Are you concerned about the safety of the electrics in your home? Perhaps you have young children and worry about them fiddling with power points and plugs when you’re not looking? To ensure that you and your family are safe from the electrics in your home, call our friendly team today on 08 9451 7735 and ask about our RCDs.

WHAT IS AN RCD?

RCDs, otherwise known as Residual Current Devices, are designed to prevent fatal electric shock from touching a live wire. They provide a level of personal safety that fuses and circuit breakers are unable to meet, and also offer protection against electrical fires in the home. RCDs monitor the current flowing through wires and circuits, immediately cutting off the circuit when electricity starts flowing towards a person.

Our fully qualified technicians have been installing RCDs for years in homes across Perth. Using only the highest quality Legrand and Clipsal products, we can install RCDs on all your circuits to ensure the safety of you and your family. If your existing RCDs are faulty, we can also carry out emergency repairs to maintain the protection of your family.
