RCD’s are required by law to be fitted at the origin of the power

Since 2000 it has been compulsory for all new homes to have a minimum of two RCD Safety Switches fitted to protect the power and lighting circuits as part of the electrical installation. However, homes built before 2000 were not required to have two RCDs fitted.

RCDs, otherwise known as Residual Current Devices, are designed to prevent fatal electric shock from touching a live wire. They provide a level of personal safety that fuses and circuit breakers are unable to meet, and also offer protection against electrical fires in the home. RCDs monitor the current flowing through wires and circuits, immediately cutting off the circuit when electricity starts flowing towards a person.

Our fully qualified technicians have been installing RCDs for years in homes across Perth. Using only the highest quality Legrand and Clipsal products, we can install RCDs on all your circuits to ensure the safety of you and your family.

Remember, power is a fire source as well.

Whether you have old safety switches that need to be upgraded, or you require emergency repairs on your existing safety switches, we’ll be more than happy to help keep you and your home safe.
